QTBIPOC Programs Co-Coordinator

You must be Black, Indigenous, or a racialized person and 2SLGBTQIA+ to fill this position.

The QTBIPOC Programs Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all programming within ROSE geared towards serving our racialized members, through the organizing of events, programs, and services. Within the Coordinator Team, they serve alongside a co-coordinator in their portfolio, and operate relatively independent of the Lead Coordinator.

Specific duties include::

  • Connecting ROSE with local organizations dedicated to serving Black communities, Indigenous peoples, or other racialized groups, both Queer and non-queer, for potential partnerships.

  • Identifying program and service needs of racialized members, and developing strategies to meet these needs.

  • Organizing and executing event ideas to engage the community.

The Support Coordinator is responsible for administrating ROSE's support services under the supervision of the Lead Coordinator, including the advocacy service, QueerSupport program, and community care services.

Specific duties include:

  • Overseeing volunteers including Advocates, the QueerSupport Lead Facilitator, and Community Care volunteers.

  • Handling record-keeping and reporting related to the programs overseen.

  • Monitoring the support@roseottawa.org email and responding promptly to emails.

  • Working with the Lead and Outreach Coordinators to develop and maintain community relations with other 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations.

  • Working with the Services Committee, continue to develop potential services and refine our current ones.
